[edit] Get involved on the wiki
[ Editing Guide ]
Here's how to begin collaborating through this site.
Guests (anonymous users)
- You may view all of the content in the Public Content Area and the Public Discussion Area right away, without registering, logging in, or anything.
- However, you will not be able to edit anything.
Registered Users (logged in users)
- You like what you see, and you have some comments to make. You also would like to be notified of changes to Content Pages or contact some of the other users.
- Go ahead and create an account (see link in the upper right corner of the page). It is free.
- We encourage anyone who is interested in OpenTravel to register, whether they are currently part of an OpenTravel Alliance member company or not.
- When you create an account, you should supply an email address. When you supply your email address, it allows other users of the wiki to contact you. OpenTravel may also use this email address to contact you on occasion. (An email address is required in order to have any additional privileges on this site.)
- An email message will be sent to you so that you can confirm that the email address really belongs to you. When you receive the email message, you should click on the link which confirms that email address. Then you can log in to this site.
- You will still not be able to edit the content pages. However, every content page has a "Discussion" tab which takes you to a "Talk Page" (example) about that content page. Every registered user who has confirmed their email address has the ability to edit any of the Talk Pages.
- Welcome to the community. We value your input.
- You should probably read the Help:Editing to see how to use the wiki.
OpenTravel Members
- Any registered user who is associated with an OpenTravel member company will receive full rights in the wiki within 24 hours of your request, meaning you will be able to edit content pages.
- You will also be able to view all members-only pages, where additional work group and project team information is available.
Sysops
- Various members of the OpenTravel Architecture Workgroup have volunteered to manage this site.
- They can "Protect" pages so that only the Sysops can modify them.
- You can reach them by sending email to webmaster@wiki.opentravel.org.
