[edit] What is the purpose of the OpenTravel Wiki ?
This site serves several purposes, including the following:
- It serves as a knowledge base for OpenTravel members and implementers.
- It provides an open forum for input for OpenTravel members and implementers.
- It promotes collaboration among OpenTravel project teams.
This is all in support of the OpenTravel Mission.
The OpenTravel Alliance is passionate about solving the problems inherent with connecting multiple systems within the complex travel distribution arena. OpenTravel's mission is to engineer specifications that make data transmission flow smoothly throughout travel, tourism and hospitality. OpenTravel creates, expands and drives adoption of open universal data specifications, including but not limited to the use of XML, for the electronic exchange of business information among all sectors of the travel industry. Tens of thousands of OpenTravel message structures are in use, carrying tens of millions of messages between trading partners every day.

[edit] How do a sign-up for the Wiki?
- Click on the "Log in / create account" link in the upper-right corner of the page.
- Click on the "Create an account" link.
- Fill out all five fields. If you want to gain access as an OpenTravel member, please use a work e-mail address.
- When you receive the the confirmation e-mail, please click on the embedded link to confirm your e-mail address.
- Now you can log in, and you will have "guest" privileges.
- If you have confirmed your e-mail address and that address is in the domain of an OpenTravel member company, you should receive authorization to access the site with "ota" member privileges sometime in the next business day.
[edit] How do a make a certain page part of my "watched" pages?
If there is any page which is interesting to you that you would like notifications of changes for, you can mark the page as a "watched" page.
- Go to the page. Click on the "watch" tab.
[edit] How do I set my preferences for my "watched" page notifications?
You can set preferences for "watched pages" in the Preferences Tab. Below are some recommended preferences.
- Click on the "my preferences" link.
- Click on the "Watchlist" tab.
- I like to select all of the checkboxes in this Watchlist Preferences tab. You choose what you would like.
