A number of tools have trouble properly processing default values for attributes, often requiring the implementer to strip these values from the schema.

OpenTravel has committed to removing all default values from the specification by the 2009A release. This will result in a number of major changes.

[edit] Use of the word "class"
[edit] Issue
Certain OpenTravel schema, such as OTA_RailAvailRS, name attributes or elements as "class", which is often a reserved word in various programming languages.

OpenTravel's specification managers are aware of this issue, but are presently not prepared to make the required major changes to the schemas.
