[edit] Overview
[edit] Projects[edit] ActiveThis project is enhancing the existing OpenTravel vehicle messages to disclose a no show fee to customers and support the collection of the fee. This involves adding content to the existing messages to indicate on which vehicles a fee applies and the rules and conditions that govern the fee. In addition, the additional processing to validate that required fields are provided during the booking path is supported.
This project introduces a new message pair that allows a supplier to notify a trading partner of periods of time where a vehicle rental rate plan (or specific vehicle type(s)) is/are no longer available in inventory and should not appear in availability searches or be offered as bookable inventory for consumers. This type of functionality may be referred to as both “blackout periods” and “stop-sells”. This project adds electronic miscellaneous document (EMD) business functionality to OpenTravel air messages—allowing OpenTravel implementers to exchange fee-related information (that is separate from a fare) for items and services passengers can purchase to enhance their travel experience. These items and services include inflight amenities such as meals and entertainment and the sale of merchandise. Additionally, other EMD fees, such as fees for baggage charges may be exchanged. This project is defining a set of OpenTravel rail and generic schemas that are closely aligned with common rail industry business functionality and cover the scope of web services required to implement a modern rail reservation system for the following message categories: Schedules, Search & Availability, Pricing & Fares, Reservation & Booking, and Payment & Authorization. [edit] Completed
These new messages address a common vehicle rental business need to be able to bulk transfer entire reservations between computer systems. Existing OpenTravel messages support requesting new reservations and retrieving existing reservation information in a client/server style pull operation, however, they do not support transferring bulk reservation information in a notification style push operation like the new messages do. The new messages provide bulk transfers of vehicle reservations, supporting system notification of changes made to reservations on another system so the two systems can be kept in sync with each other.
This message pair provides the capability for a car supplier to send Reservation Information to another system for the purpose of confirming, updating or rejecting asynchronously a reservation. The message set acts as a “push” message. The intended partners are the Car Supplier Systems, the CRS, the GDS, etc.
This project enhanced the OTA_VehResRQ, OTA_VehRetResRS and OTA_VehModify schema with additional elements to accommodate insurance rentals, including claim number, policy number, repair location, company charged days, split bill
indicator, make/model preferred, and reason for hire.
