The OpenTravel Travel Integration Workgroup consists of companies that provide services to the travel industry (such as travel agents, software developers, global distribution system providers) and other travel industry verticals that don't functionally fit in either the Transport or Hospitality Workgroups:

Travel Integration Workgroup members identify and develop the scope of work for these sectors, which may include:

• Enhancing OpenTravel schema by reviewing and actioning submitted specification comments
• Identifying emerging business needs and addressing gaps in current schema functionality by submitting project team proposals
• Reviewing (and potentially enhancing) project team proposals
• Participating in new Travel Integration project teams (to develop schema, use cases & sample instances and other OpenTravel artifacts)
• Participating in the development of travel integration data dictionaries (and other tools for implementers of the OpenTravel Specification)

This project supports a current OpenTravel initiative to increase the functionality and usability of tour messages and adds new booking/booking modification messages along with enhancements to existing messages to provide a richer set of information that can be exchanged with trading partners. Unique to this project is the definition of an OpenTravel Tours Schema Usage Profile that members can use as is--or enhance and share with trading partners.

• Car Rental and Package Options Functionality for Dynamic Packages

The Dynamic Package messages provide a central location for component searches to be run simultaneously via one message and are functionally different from the existing OpenTravel Package messages. Rather than operating on static packages with pre-determined components, the Dynamic Package messages provide the functionality to create packages with independent component selections. With the 2010A standard, support has been added for two additional component types: 1) Car Rental and 2) Package Options ( these can be added to a package as either stand-alone products or as included items to existing components. Examples of package options include: show tickets, amusement park tickets, airport transfers, meal plan vouchers, club passes and travel insurance.)
